PhapthaySajin, a Korean-Korean photo exchange project, will host a photo exhibition titled “The Korea Gaze” from 15 February to 6 March 2024 at the Baan Tuek Art Centre in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Featuring 41 of Korea’s leading photographers, the exhibition will showcase works that capture culture and landscape from the Korean perspective.
The photo exhibition showcases works that explore the Korean gaze. Through the various scenes captured by Korean photographers, you can get a glimpse of what the world looks like from the Korean perspective. The photographers explore their surroundings through their own eyes, or convey the meaning of the world as they see it.
Alongside the exhibition, there will be workshops exploring Chiang Mai city and the surrounding area. Photographers participating in the workshop will experience the different aspects of Chiang Mai first-hand and document them through their own eyes.
On 24 February 2024 at 4pm, an opening event will be held at ‘Banpok Art Centre’. The opening event will be attended by many participating photographers and officials, and will include an introduction to the photo exhibition and workshops, as well as various programmes.
This photo exhibition is an important event for the exchange of photographic culture between Korea and Thailand. It will be an opportunity to appreciate the cultures and landscapes of both countries from different perspectives. We look forward to your interest and participation.

한태 사진교류 프로젝트인 ‘팝타이사진(PhapthaySanin)’은 2024년 2월 15일부터 3월 6일까지 태국 치앙마이의 ‘반특 아트 센터’에서 “The Korea Gaze”라는 제목의 사진전을 개최합니다. 한국의 대표적인 사진작가 41인이 참여하는 이번 사진전은 한국인의 시선으로 문화와 풍경을 담은 작품들을 선보입니다.
사진전은 한국인의 시선을 살펴 볼 수 있는 작품들을 전시합니다. 한국의 사진작가들이 포착한 다양한 모습을 통해서 한국인이 바라보는 세상은 어떤 모습일지 조금이나마 느껴 보실 수 있습니다. 작가들이 사는 주변을 자신만의 시선으로 탐구하기도하고 또는 자신이 바라본 세상의 의미를 전달하기도 합니다.
사진전과 함께 치앙마이 시내와 주변 지역을 탐방하는 워크샵도 진행됩니다. 워크샵에 참여한 사진작가들은 치앙마이의 다양한 모습을 직접 경험하고, 그들의 시선으로 기록하게 됩니다.
2024년 2월 24일 오후 4시에는 ‘반특 아트 센터’에서 오프닝 행사가 열립니다. 오프닝 행사에는 많은 참여 작가와 관계자들이 참석하여, 사진전과 워크샵에 대한 소개와 다양한 프로그램이 진행될 예정입니다.
이번 사진전은 한국과 태국의 사진문화 교류를 위한 중요한 행사입니다. 두 나라의 문화와 풍경을 다양한 시각으로 감상할 수 있는 기회가 될 것입니다. 많은 관심과 참여를 부탁드립니다.
