Buddhist Mountain Monasteries

One of Korea’s traditional buildings, Yangsan Tongdosa Temple is one of the three major temples in Korea. It is a Buddhist treasure temple and was founded in 646 AD by Jajangyulsa of Silla.
In June 2018, it was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the title Buddhist Mountain Monasteries in Korea.
Tongdosa Temple preserves the spirit of Buddhist homeland thought and Mahayana Buddhism. It is a traditional temple of compassion practice that emphasizes harmony and reconciliation between humans and humans, and between humans and nature, as a great measure of individual mind training and practice for liberation.
The white snow that falls here seems to wash away all sins of the world, and the snow-covered temple is a reminder of the Korean winter and tradition of practicing peaceful compassion.

한국의 전통 건축물 중의 하나인 양산 통도사는 한국의 3대 사찰중
불보(佛寶)사찰로서 서기 646년 신라의 자장율사가 창건한 절이다.
2018년 6월 한국의 산지 승원(San sa, Buddhist Mountain Monasters in Korea) 이라는 명칭으로 유네스코 세계문화 유산으 로 등재되어 있다.
통도사는 불국토 사상과 대승불교의 정신을 잘 간직하여 개인의 마 음수행과 해탈을 위한 수행의 큰 도량으로 인간과 인간, 인간과 자 연 사이에서 조화와 화해를 강조하는 자비 실천의 전통사찰이다.
여기에 하얗게 내리는 눈은 속세의 모든 때를 씻는 듯한 마음과 눈
덮인 사찰의 모습은 마음의 평화 자비실천의 도량으로서 꿋꿋하게 살아있는 한국의 겨울과 전통을 알리고 있다
