Beyond the Tourist Trail

Behind the flashy tourist attractions, there is a true side of Thailand that we have not known. In this exhibition, I want to show you the daily lives of ordinary Thai people that have not been highlighted so far. Even in a society that is rapidly changing after the COVID-19 pandemic, their appearance of continuing their lives silently resembles ours who live without losing hope, even if sometimes we are tired and exhausted. Their daily lives captured through camera lenses are touching us just like a movie. From a warm smile greeting customers in a small store, the usual scene of early morning market which has sweating merchants, and even the ordinary scene of eating with the family under the evening sunset. All these moments come together to remind us of the true meaning of life. Through this exhibition, visitors will be able to discover the beauty that exists beyond the flashiness and feel that we are all connected to each other

I have been living in Bangkok as a company employee for 18 years. Bangkok is a world-class tourist destination and home to 8.3 million people. As a person who lives in this city, I also try to find meaningful scenes in their daily lives with them. I participated in the exhibition “The Korean Gaze” in Chiang Mai, Thailand and a special exhibition in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
